Lesson 1

Lesson 1 of 3

If you run into issues watching the lesson video, we’ve provided an alternate version for you. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Before We Begin

Before we start working on your putting fundamentals, we’ll first bring in a simple practice routine template.

Summary

I’ve created a straightforward putting practice template you can follow. It’s designed to give you structure while you learn.

Inside, you’ll see examples of core drills like short putts, lag putts, and alignment checks. You’ll also find a few grip and stance reminders, along with a pace-control routine to help you build consistency.

The goal is to use this practice template while working through your putting fundamentals.

Tasks

  1. Download the practice routine sheet from the Files section of this page.
  2. Print it out or save it to your device for quick reference.
  3. Review the listed drills—short putts, distance control, and alignment—and follow them step by step during your practice.
  4. Bring the sheet with you when you head out to practice or set up a home putting station.

Yes, it looks basic now—but the real improvement comes when you start putting it into action.
